Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to sign-up for classes in advance?

No. You are welcome to show up for any class without pre-registrations.  We do however encourage you to create an account with Mindbody and pre-register. It is helpful for our instructors to know that they are expecting you, and it also helps you keep commitments.

What type of clothing should I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothing that will move with your body.  We practice in bare feet. Try to avoid wearing greasy lotions that contribute to sliping.

Should I eat before yoga?

Practitioners generally feel best with little food in the system. You want to feel nourished, but not overly full. It is preferred to avoid large meals in the hour or two before class.  Proper hydration is important!

How early should I arrive before class?

Please plan to be at the studio 10-15min prior to class start time.  Late entry to a class is disruptive to others and robs you of important transition time as you settle into your yoga groove energetically. We all run late from time to time.  When it is your turn, we will help you get settled quickly and quietly.

Where should I park?

We have a parking lot behind the studio.  Please pull through the driveway and find a spot.  You will enter through the back door nearest the parking lot.

What if I cannot do a pose that the other students are doing?

Yoga practice is individual and all about developing personal awareness. EveryBODY will look different in each pose.  Above all, pay attention to how you feel in each pose and transitioning between poses.  If you experience pain or discomfort, adjust your posture.  Your teacher will do her best to assist you in finding an appropriate variation for each posture. Begin where you are.
